Hindleap Warren 2026 :)

Year 4 Hindleap Warren 2026

It's been a great day! We are unbelievably lucky to have such beautiful Spring weather and all of the children have made the most of it with their excellent engagement with the outdoor activities.

Our coach trip was short and uneventful and we soon arrived at Hindleap. Following a tour, children learned who would be in their rooms and went to make their own beds, with super effort and mixed results. We then split into groups for our first activity. Activity pictures are attached, though unfortunately some pictures are stuck on one of the cameras until tomorrow, so there will be a bumper update for one of the groups.

Between activities we came back for a brief break, but it has been pretty much non-stop since we arrived. We have seen fantastic resilience and effort in all of the activities and children have really got stuck in (quite literally, to the mud). Activities are a mixture of obstacle courses (including the underground tunnels!), high walking around the pentagon , fire lighting and den building. Each group has taken part in two of these today and will complete the set tomorrow.

After a delicious dinner (hot dogs and highly popular waffle fries - there was also salad available) we've reorganised and been out for the night walk around the woods. This was incredibly beautiful, with a full reddish moon and plenty of stars.

After dinner children have had some playtime in their rooms, gotten ready for bed and listened to a story with a hot chocolate, and they are now all settling down to sleep. Hopefully.

Rest assured that everyone is doing well and having a great time. Apologies for the late evening update. Enjoy the pictures from our day.
Day 2

It's been another exciting and adventure-filled day at Hindleap. After a relatively good night of sleep we woke up and enjoyed a breakfast of egg/bacon rolls, porridge or cereal. Following this, we were quickly organised and out for our morning activities. Today the groups completed their set of high walking on the pentagon, obstacle course (deep tunnels!), fire lighting and den building. The weather again was spectacular, we have been extremely lucky.

After lunch (mac n cheese, soup or jacket potato with cheese and beans) there was barely time to sit down before we were off again, this time for our collective forest adventure. We were out in the woods for around three hours for this, which children coped with well. We stopped for some games and snacks along the way, taking care to guard ourselves from any lurking drop bears, before embarking on the wettest and muddiest activity of the whole trip: the stream walk. We walked along the muddy stream, clambering, climbing and ducking our way past roots and branches and gradually collecting more mud onto ourselves. Children showed excellent teamwork and motivation, helping each other and offering encouragement and support. It's been fantastic to see this element grow among the group over our time here so far.

It has been wonderful to spend time in nature, enjoying the activities but also appreciating the calmness and atmosphere out in the woods. Children have been respectful of the natural environment and keen to learn from our knowledgeable instructors.

We finished our day today with a famous Miss King campfire. It's a classic way to enjoy an evening in the woods, singing songs and sharing memories of our trip around a crackling fire. Truly special!

We're settled down now for our last night here, but with more activities tomorrow there is still a last bit of fun to squeeze out of our visit before we pack away to head home. There are many pictures! Sorry that some are a bit blurry, we have done our best. Enjoy, and we will see you tomorrow.
